             County Commissioner welcome

Whatever you did this summer with family, friends or within Guiding we hope you had a wonderful time and were able to take full advantage of the lovely weather.

As we turn our attention to the new Guiding term, we also hope that the announcements and opportunities in this newsletter will bring sunshine into your Guiding life. As well as competitions, a free opportunity for Guides, and a chance to service the local community we are thrilled that the development work on our new website has been completed. Having had a sneak preview, we can’t wait for you see it for yourself! It is modern, professional and informative and it will remove some of the admin burden from badge ordering and event booking. It will also be the go-to place for county information and, together with a suite of role based email addresses being introduced over the new few weeks, will make contacting county post holders so much easier. The very small team which have worked on this has done an amazing job so when the time comes, please use it!

Do also try to get along to all or part of our County Training Day on 1 October. We have excellent trainers, as well as Region Advisers, the county team and some professional crafters all ready to help you with your Guiding role and to give you something just for you! Haxby is well served by public transport, and the church is a beautiful, comfortable building with plenty of car parking. Come and meet old friends, make new ones and enjoy!

See you there!

Celebrating Amelie Thompson's participation in GS90

Amelie Thompson is a Young Leader with 1st Copmanthorpe Brownies. Along with 5 other members of  North Yorkshire Scouts and Guides  she helped ensure GS 90 was a great success. This was a huge commitment from all 6 members and their parents - congratulations! All cast members including Amelie  should be justifiably proud of what they've achieved in helping to deliver this memorable event.
