             County Commissioner welcome

For the last 2 months while Alison has been doing an amazing job as your County Commissioner, I’ve been away enjoying myself on the other side of the world with my New Zealand family.  I celebrated World Thinking Day with Te Kauwhata Pippins, Brownies, & Guides.

During my visits to NZ over the years I’ve been lucky enough to attend local camps and international jamborees, one at Tui Ridge in 2012 and one in Christchurch in 2016. Girlguiding makes us feel so welcome and gives us an amazing sense of belonging wherever we go in the world.

As I return “to work” we are in the usual busy time of subscription invoices, end of year accounts, and spring and summer adventure planning.

Milestone dates to be aware of are:
Tuesday 21 February, midday: Official and payable invoices were available to download. Currently, we have over 30 invoices “not yet viewed”.  Please help your local commissioner and the county by viewing, downloading and paying your invoice as soon as possible

Friday 17 March: Reminder email to the main contact of any level that hasn't yet paid their official invoice.

Friday 31 March, midday: All subscription payments must be received in full by this date.

By 31 March, your local commissioners need to see a copy of your end of year account statement.  More information can be found at End of Year Accounts

This is the time we start to think about planning our spring and summer events. If there are any events you would like your county commissioners to attend please let us know and we will do our best to join you.

Thank you,

Lesley & Alison

Larkin Jamboree 2024

North Yorkshire Scouts are planning an International Jamboree in 2024. This will be held the 27th July to 3rd August 2024 at Duncombe Park, Helmsley. There is a website and leaders are encourages to sign up for updates, so they get information as it is released. We would love Guide and Ranger units to join us at the Jamboree for a week of fun and adventure. Brownies and Rainbows will also be able to join in the fun with their own programmes.

Adults also have the option to be part of the organising team or the service team at the event and if leaders would like to do that, then they can use the Volunteer button on the website - we would love to see lots of Girlguiding members help deliver this International Jamboree in 2024!
