             County Commissioner welcome

I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended the St Georges Day parade and service in both York and Selby; it was a wonderful and inspiring day. As County Commissioners we joined the event at York Minster, we were both immensely honoured to walk into the Minster behind our County Standard.  We stood on the saluting base watching the parade go by, so proud to see so many smiling faces, proud to wear their uniforms, taking part in this incredible event showcasing Girlguiding in York.  The Mini Dragons event in the marquee was an absolutely remarkable success; we have had some lovely feedback and thanks must go to Helen Feetenby and Emma Chester for the arrangements.

As we chatted to the Chief Constable for North Yorkshire, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, and the York Civic Party, each one of them told us how amazing the Girlguiding organisation is, what amazing benefits it offers our young people. So THANK YOU for all you do, without you we wouldn’t have this incredible group of people in North Yorkshire South.

As we move into the summer term plans are coming together for our camps, holidays and days out. Our PR Team are preparing to help units with their community events and village carnivals. They can supply a range of publicity materials, banners, bunting and flags to help your stall look amazing. Clare our County PR Lead Volunteer can be contacted to book the material at pr.girlguidingnys@gmail.com
If you are planning any summer events please invite your County Commissioners to join you, wherever possible we will do our best to come along.
