County Commissioner welcome       

As I write this Newsletter the county team have had to make the disappointing decision to cancel our Savvy Saturday County Day due to lack of interest. Thank you to those who did want to come along, and to everyone else, please do let us know anything that would help us to create training opportunities in the future that would excite you and make you want to attend!

We do have some positive news to share, however. Our Strategic Plan, which is available on our website, highlighted that we would “introduce a Youth Forum of members aged 13-18 with representatives from each Division to feed into County decisions and influence County events”. We have now appointed a Lead Volunteer for this, Beccy from Abbey Division and local Commissioners are starting to identify their local representatives. Hooray!

There is still time for units to join in with our sponsored walk through the Escrick Estate. If you haven’t signed up yet, why not come along and raise some funds to help you pay the annual subscription for your unit next year? We have already been told that the HQ element will be £31 and Region £6.60 and we will be deciding the County and White Rose House elements at our county meeting on 15^th October. I am sure that additional funds will be useful to meet what inevitably will be an increased cost.
