             County Commissioner welcome

As we start this term we reflect on the summer activities, outings, camps and holidays you our incredible volunteers have given to the members of Girlguiding North Yorkshire South. I saw this on a Girlguiding social media site, I thought it was perfect.

Although it’s the summer holidays we have both tried to have some time away from our commissioner responsibilities, unfortunately it’s not always worked.  We have had daily notifications from headquarters asking us to contact volunteers who have not completed the required Safe Space training; many of these notifications are final reminders. There were also several DBS checks expiring that need to be renewed urgently.  Please help us and your local commissioners by keeping up to date.

Enjoy the new term.

Lesley and Alison

External First Aid Qualification
NEW PROCESS

NEE Region have recently appointed three first aid verifiers. Their role is to advise on all external first aid qualifications completed by volunteers and decide if they meet the GG syllabus.

The process for checking an external First Aid qualification is as follows:

  • Email the verifiers on FirstAidVerifiers@girlguidingnortheast.org.uk and include name as recorded on GO, membership number, training certificate (including date training completed) and training syllabus.
  • The email will be picked up by one of the verifiers who will discuss the course and qualification with the volunteer to gather information and decide if the course meets the Girlguiding syllabus or not.
  • The verifier who has been dealing with that enquiry will then reply to the volunteer to advise on any additional training needed or if the course has been accepted.

Once completed, the verifiers will let Region office know for GO to be updated.

If you have any questions or queries about GO please contact the Membership Systems Team
