Latest edition – March 2024

I’ve realised that today is officially the first day of spring, a time when we start to think about plans for the coming months when hopefully the weather improves, and we can enjoy our various outdoor adventures.  With only 8 months left as your County Commissioners we want to finish with county events for all sections. We have a Brownie Adventure Day at Williams Den  on 18 May, a camp for Guides and Rangers at Murton Park on 21-23 June and although this will be after our tenure we are starting to plan the Rainbow Santa event at Murton Park for 1 December 2024.

Additionally, we are starting to think about this years Thanks and Recognition Event which will be on 12 October. This will be our county commissioner hand-over event too. We would like to ask you what type of event you would like to see; would you like a participation event, for example an escape room type event, or a ceilidh, or would you like an evening dinner at a hotel, where you can get your posh outfit out? I have visions of a classy ensemble worn with a necker!! Just let us have your suggestions and we will see what we can do to make it happen.

Thank you for your continued support

St George’s Day 2024 York UPDATE

Further information about this year’s event is now available here.

We have the wristbands for Guiding members to distribute to those attending. To ensure an equitable distribution we need to know which units intend to attend. Please therefore let your Division Commissioner know whether your unit intends to attend or not ASAP and by 23rd March at the latest. If you could also give a realistic indication of the number of wristbands needed (based on the likely attendance not your unit membership) that would be helpful.
