Welcome back!
Welcome back to the new term, I hope you have managed some time away from Guiding duties during the summer break. I know this can also be a busy time for units with camps and indoor holidays too, on the whole I think the weather was good to us over summer.
As Alison and I move into our last term as your county commissioners, we have started to reflect on the last 5 years, where did that time go? As more detailed account of our time will be in the next newsletter.
We hope you will join us at our county handover event together with this years Thanks and Recognition celebration on the afternoon of 12 October at White Rose House; we look forward to seeing you.

Downs Syndrome 21 Challenge
Downs Syndrome UK are offering units the opportunity to participate in their annual 21 Challenge as part of Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October. This initiative is a fun and engaging way to raise awareness, and it aligns perfectly with the “Want to Make a Difference?” badge, specifically the “Make Change” skills builder.
The 21 Challenge encourages participants to take on activities related to the number 21—whether it’s completing 21 acts of kindness, crafting 21 special items, or anything else your unit can dream up. They can provide posters, resources and any additional support you may need to get started.
For further details please contact Rachel Hristov Community Fundraising Coordinator at Downs Syndrome UK
